Declaration of Faith – Beliefs
We believe…
1. The bible to be the inspired Word of
God, and accept the same as the only infallible guide and
rule of our faith and practice. (Math. 24:35; Ps 118:89; II
Tim. 3:16-17; II Tim 2:15; II Pet 1:19-21)
2. In the eternal, omnipotent,
omniscient, omnipresent and immutable Triune God, maker of
heaven and earth, and all that in them is and in the unity
of the Godhead. There are three Persons, equal in every
divine perfection and attribute, executing distincltly, but
harmonious offices in the great work of redemptions. (I Jn.
5:7; II Cor. 13:14; Gen. 1:26; I Tim, 1:17)
God the
Father (Isa. 43:10; 44:8; Jn. 3:16)
God the Son (Jn.
1:1-3; Math. 1:23; I Tim. 2:5; Eph. 2:18; Phil. 2:6-11)
God the Holy Spirit (Jn. 14:26; 15:26; 16:7-8)
3. The fall of man. (Gen. 3:1-19; Rom.
5:12,19; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 3:10,23)
4. The Plan of Redemption. Christ was
the Lamb of God fore-ordained from the foundation of the
world, and that by the shedding of His blood on the cross,
He made provision for salvation for all men. (I Pet.
1:19-20; Isa. 53:5; Titus 2:14; Heb. 7:25)
5. The New Birth. It is totally
impossible for men to save himself. Salvation is by God’s
grace alone. It is received through sincere godly repentance
and a whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as his
personal Savior. Through being born again, he becomes a new
creature in Christ Jesus. Old things have passed away,
behold all things have become new. (Jn. 3:3; II Cor. 5:17;
Gal. 2:20; I Pet. 2:24)
6. Daily Christian life. Having been
cleansed by the blood and quickened by the Spirit, it is
God’s will that we should be sanctified daily, and be made
partakers of His holiness; walking not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit; forsaking the very appearance of evil such
as worldly amusements, worldly conversation, worldly habits,
etc. (Rom. 1:5; 12:1-12; II Cor. 7:1; I Pet. 1:15; I Thess.
5:5)
7. Marriage and Divorce. Knowing that
marriage was instituted by God, sanctioned by the Lord Jesus
and commended by Paul as being honorable among all men; we
believe that a Christian man or woman should not marry an
unsaved person. Having been united by God in holy matrimony,
neither person, as long as both live, should be free to
divorce and marry another. (II Cor. 6:15; Matt. 19:5-6; Heb.
13:4; Lk. 16:18)
8. Water Baptism. Water baptism by
immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is
commended by God; that it is subsequent to conversion, that
it is not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an
inward work. (Matt. 28:29; Rom. 6:4; Acts 2:28)
10. Lord’s Supper. In the commemoration
of the Lord’s supper as type of the “broken body” and “shed
blood” of our Lord Jesus Christ, and as an ordinance showing
forth the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, and a
looking forward to the “Marriage Supper” of the Lamb. (I
Cor. 11:23-27; Lk. 22:7-22)
11. Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Jn.
14:16; Acts 1:8; 2:4, 38-39; 19:6; I Cor. 3:16)
12. Divine Healing (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt.
8:16-17; James 5:14-16; Acts 3:16)
13. The Rapture and the Second coming of
Christ (Rev.)
14. Mission. The great commission of our
Lord Jesus Christ to carry the gospel message to the entire
world is literal, imperative and binding today. (Matt. 9:38;
Mark 16:15; Rev. 5:9; Rom. 10:13-15; James 5:20; Ps. 2:8)
15. Evangelism – soul winning is the
chief mission of the church upon earth. (II Tim. 4:1-2; Eph.
5:16; Prv. 11:30; Eze. 3:17-18; Jn 4:35-37)
16. Hell. Hell is a literal place of
outer darkness, bitter sorrow, remorse and woe, prepared by
God for the devil and his angels. But those who would reject
God and His principles and commandments, whose names are not
written in the Lamb’s book of Life will be sent there also.
(Rev. 20:10, 14-15; 21:7-8; 14:10-11; Matt. 25:41; Mk.
9:43-44)
17. Heaven. Heaven is the habitation of
the living God, where Christ has gone to prepare for all His
children, where they shall dwell eternally in happiness and
security with Him. (I Cor. 2:9; Jm/ 14:2-3; Acts 1:9-11;
Rev. 21:14; 22:5; 7:5-7)
18. Final Judgement where the wicked
will be judged. (Matt. 13:41,43; Rev. 20:11-15)
